Intrigues Of Google Internet Search In 2011 Going To 2012

Intrigues Of Google Internet Search In 2011 Going To 2012

The story of the year for internet search marketers was Google’s several algorithm changes. In 2011 there were over 500 algorithm updates but the king of them all was the Panda Update. If you talk to any SEO marketer, they will attest to either benefiting or falling victim of Panda.

When 2011 started, people complained of how internet search had become messed up. At the top of search results were sites and blogs offering bogus content. Sites from link farms were said to be dominating the net and that prompted Google to find ways of rooting out these sites.

Towards the end of the first quarter of 2011, Google began dealing with these sites by coming up with an algorithm that was named by internet marketers, Farmer Update. Later, Google officially came out and told internet search marketers the real name they had given this algorithm change, it was Panda Update.

Since then there have been several versions of panda all aimed at weeding out crappy sites from Google search results. But during this time some genuine sites had also fallen on the way side. Though some of them recovered e.g Hubpages others were not so lucky e.g eHow and Ezine articles.

These sites had to do major clean up so as to move up the ranks again. For example, eHow had to result to deleting over 300, 000 articles. Ezine articles that was considered one of the top article marketing directory, up to date has not fully recovered.

Share your comments in the section provided below this article on how the Panda updates have affected you, positively or negatively.

To demonstrate to you how powerful Google is, a site like yahoo had to also undergo major adjustment too.

If you ask me Google had no choice but to implement these changes. You may question the timing, but whether you like it or not someday this was bound to happen. The fact that users were complaining about internet search results meant that sooner or later Google was going to loss to their competitors.

Knowing Google they were not going to just sit back and watch as their search engine credibility go down.

So as to remain the top search engine and thus continue to generate high revenue through Google advertising, they had to draw the big guns. Did you know that Google’s top earner is advertising, 97% of googl’s total revenue is generated by google Adwords.

Therefore, there is no way one can blame Google for what they have done in 2011 when it comes to site ranking. Google internet search had become so messed up they simply had to find a strategy to straighten it out.

It may not have been 100% perfect, but either way search on google is now giving more quality and relevant results. After the dust had settled, Google finally shared with SEO internet marketers the kind of content they need to publish to remain at the top of google internet search.

Come 2012, this are the things you need to look at as you are creating content. If you do so you will be on the safe side of the panda updates and future Google algorithm changes.

Here are things to consider as you generate web content:

*Ensure your content is always of high quality. Before you publish your articles ask yourself if you think the content is good enough to appear in a book or a top ranking magazine.

*Avoid putting up to many ads that will distract visitors from reading your main content. The next big thing come 2012 is going to be the issue of ads-to-content ratio. Google said it is doing the tests right now, but you can bet they have already effected these changes to some extent.

*Your content should appear as been aimed at offering informative content to internet searchers rather than seeking to rank for targeted keywords.

*Avoid duplicate content by posting the same articles and only changing the targeted keywords.

*Show professionalism by going through your articles to correct grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.

google internet search*Take your time to create and edit content. Hurriedly produced articles will most of the time lead to substandard content thus google will not rank such content high.

*Do you think that your visitors will trust the content you are sharing on your website, blog or on an article marketing site?

*Go the extra mile to share interesting content that will amuse and captivate your readers.

*The information you publish on your site should be original and not copied from other sites. Therefore, take time to do your own research and investigation so as to come up with your own valid opinions.

*When compared to other similar topics, your articles have to rich with information that is valuable to internet search users.

*Share content that will make your site to become an authority in your niche.

*Avoid an incidence where google internet search users would complain about your content and you will always be in the good books of Google.

*Publish information that would easily necessitate your readers to bookmark your site or share it with their friends. If your site can have a viral marketing effect, you are good to go.

*If you decide to write on a certain topic make sure you do a comprehensive job. Don’t publish half baked content and expect search engines to offer it to internet search users.

*Write long and descriptive content that provide specifics. Search engines will give more preference to long articles over short ones.

*Ask yourself, would visitors trust your site enough to enter their credit card details thus purchase products while on your site? If your answer is Yes, then you are set to succeed in internet home business.

*Concentrate more on having unique content on your site rather than sharing your content on network sites. Broadcasting your content so much will make your individual pages loss value since you will give them less consideration.

*After people have read your articles will they consider you an expert in your niche or just see you as another publisher posting half backed content?

Towards the end 2011 Google was not done, they released Google Fresh. The effects of google fresh were not felt so much since 35% of internet searches were affected. This translates to 1 site out of 6 been affected. The update was aimed to give priority to site providing fresh content.

Summary:  Finally, 2012 is here with us and SEO marketers need to brace themselves not only for Panda updates, but also for algorithms that address above the fold content.

To avoid falling victim of the google updates in 2012, do what google says. There are over 200 parameters that google uses to rank websites. Slight changes of these signals can easily increase or demote your site rankings.

Google Ranking Algorithm Changes Once More

Google Ranking Algorithm Changes Once More

Have you noted that google ranking has been affected once again? SEO experts from different quarters have voiced their concerns about the new changes.  While others are celebrating the new google ranking updates, others are up in arms calling it suspect.

The new algorithm update has been named Google Fresh, it took effect 3 days ago (5th November 2011). Since this happened over the weekend, am sure most webmasters will wake up on Monday to find their sites ranking differently. One thing you can be sure of is that most reactions will be posted this week as bloggers and SEO expert analyze the new google ranking algorithm.

But even as we speak, some SEO experts have already voiced their opinions and it is just the third day of the change. This goes to show that Google Fresh has already affected most bloggers, webmasters and companies offering SEO services.

On one post shared by the owner of a site called I Love SEO, thought that the new google ranking changes were brought about by the need for more advertising space. Gianluca coned a name of the new google algorithm and named it Caffeine 2.0.

The one thing that all search engines seek to achieve is provide their users with quality content. Once user experience has been enhanced, search engines know that their main stream of revenue which is selling advertisement space will increase. It is for this same reason that Google keeps on striving to improve user experience at every opportunity.

Just the other day, Google ranking for most sites was affected by the Google panda updates, and before webmasters can recover from that change, today some will wake up to another change yet again, the Google Fresh.

I tend to concur with Ben Will a writer with Marketing pilgrim who says the best strategy on improving your google rankings is by regular posting. Search engines in their pursuit to provide their users with quality content, will always rank high sites that are updated on a continuous basis.

Therefore, for those people that are consistent when it comes to blogging, you need not worry of being affected with Google Fresh. But one point that Ben raised that I somehow disagreed with is the use of forum marketing.

For some time now people are spamming forum sites with their links thus making them appear like link farms. If you have to go this way, the best strategy is to join a forum marketing site that is moderated well. Note that in order to gain web presence on forum sites you need to invest a fair amount of work and time.

The new google algorithm change will have a great impact as regards to pay per click advertising; this was according to Jeff Allen. Though Google did not state anything to this regard, Jeff thinks that in the long run people that use PPC in their marketing campaign will feel the effects of this change.

I believe the reason of him thinking so is because Google has always sort to reduce the gap between organic search traffic and paid traffic. For people seeking to make money from home based online work like blogging, need to generate fresh content regularly.

One thing that remains constant when it gets to marketing on the internet through search engines is content. In fact, if you concentrate on updating your site with quality information you can be sure that every algorithm change will be to your advantage.

google rankingFrom the word go, google ranking has always been about producing quality content on an ongoing basis. But you can consider yourself lucky if the niche you are involved in does not require regular updates.

According to Google, the new Google Fresh change will only affect some topics and leaving out others. Therefore, in case you are in a niche that calls for timely or daily updates you need to be warily.

Those of you who have been updating your sites regularly can relax. Even if you note that your google ranking have gone down, keep updating your content as usual and it will not be long before you find your site ranking even better than before.

The debate for the last three days has been whether Google Fresh update is about consistency in updating new content or not. SEO experts are worried that in the pursuit to provide readers with fresh content, it does not necessarily means the content will be of high quality.

There is a lot of old and valuable content out there that may not feature yet some of this content is of great value to readers. Google needs to be careful not to compromise quality content in the name of providing fresh content.

Take a scenario where a small online business is trying to complete with a big site that produces hundreds of fresh content. Lets us hope that the new Google algorithm change it will take into account the quality of the fresh content.

Another aspect that this new google ranking brings forth is the issue of websites creating blogs. With a blog, webmasters will be able to generate fresh content on a regular basis thus improve their rankings on search engine result pages. Therefore, if you do not have a blog it is the high time you now seriously considered creating one.

With Google changing their algorithms every so often, most online marketers are finding it a great destruction. But let me repeat this again, if you concentrate on generating quality content, no algorithm change will affect you negatively.

Note: Content will always remain the main ingredient in any algorithm formula.

Most people are seeing the changes today, thus share with us what you think of the new google ranking algorithm. Do you think this google algorithm change places more emphasis on content freshness or not?
